North Palm Drive

In 1949 Marilyn lived at n° 718, with Johnny Hyde.

He had made redecorate the dining-room, install leather wall seats and a dance floor exactly like at Romanoff, Marilyn's favourite restaurant.

Hyde, affected by a heart failure, died on December 1950. His family asked right away Marilyn to leave.

In 1954 she lived at n° 508 with Joe DiMaggio.

Tel : CR 6-2211.

They moved in this house when Marilyn was back in Los Angeles (after having lived in San Francisco with DiMaggio) to shoot "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "The Seven Year Itch".

They had rented this house for 6 months.

Lease agreement

The Tudor-styled house had 8 rooms, including one for Joe DiMaggio Jr's use, with a pool and 2 black Cadillac.

It directly overlooked the street. A brick path lined with chrysanthemums and red roses bended all the way to the front door.

They paid a rent of 700$ a month (high amount at that time).

On October 4, 1954, it was in front of this house that they announced their intention to divorce. During the 2 following days, the house was besieged by the press, the photographers and the fans. On October 6, Joe moved with the help of one of his friends.
