Story

He started working for the Vitagaraph Studios in Brooklyn (), first putting film on a rack then in the cutting room; he later became assistant to cameraman.

He left to San Francisco at the beginning of the 1920s and worked in various studios (). 

He settled in Hollywood on 1925, working first for the First National and Pathe Studios. He started at Universal Studios in 1927.

With his wife Mildred Blanck (April 15, 1912, New York-August 20, 1970, Los Angeles) they had a son Thomas Sol (born on december 15, 1934, Los Angeles).
